Gretchen has had a love of birds since she was a child enjoying the family parakeet.  Today, Gretchen's family includes their "first baby", Kerby, a White-bellied Caique; Kerby's girlfriend, Jezabelle, a Black-headed Caique; Hubble, a Timneh African Grey; Max, a Timneh African Grey; and Bentley, a Blue and Gold Macaw.  The birds are treated as very special members of the family getting lots of play time, outdoor activities by the pool, dinner with the family, bi-weekly showers, occasional road trips and, of course, lots of shoulder time.
