NEST NEWS

Text Box: Many of you have offered to help us in the past so we are reaching out to you to ask for your help and support! Please contact Gretchen if you can volunteer with any of the following:
A few hours of bird room/cage cleaning
Playing with the birds
Pressure washing cages
Washing and changing out food/water bowls

If we have enough volunteers, I’ll be hosting a volunteer workshop to help you get started so you can get the most out of your visit.

THANK YOU!!

Our birds (and the cat) made headlines in the Idaho Statesman on July 5, 2009!
Tim Woodward wrote a kind and informative article about our birds and our rescue efforts! (http://www.idahostatesman.com/pets/story/823705.html ),
Since the article, we have had feathered friends in need of new homes come to stay with us and we have also received quite a few inquiries to adopt (GREAT news!). If you or someone you know is interested in adopting one of our sweet birds, please complete the adoption form on our website (http://www.idahobirdsnest.com/Adoption/default.htm ) and call us to schedule time to come out for a visit! 208-939-9118.

Text Box: Know anyone who would be interested in donating a bird cage or funds to our rescue efforts?
We are in need of medium/large bird cages for many of our rescues who did not come with adequate cages. Of course, dollar donations are also very much appreciated and help provide food, toys, veterinary care, maintenance and supplies for the birds.
Tropical-Marine Science Center is a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit organization. Therefore, donations may be tax-deductible. Contact Gretchen Baker for more information or to make a donation.
Text Box: Donations Gladly Accepted (and appreciated!)
Text Box: On Saturday, July 11th, 2009, Tropical-Marine Science Center hosted its official public launch with a fundraising event featuring the fabulous music of Jim Morris! Over 100 people attended with their family and friends for food, fun and music till just after sunset. Thank you all for your support of Tropical-Marine and its mission to promote conservational appreciation of tropical and marine environments to inland areas; and to educate individuals on how this delicate and diverse ecosystem affects their everyday lives. Our bird rescue efforts are served through this organization as well. For more information about Tropical-Marine, please visit the website at http://www.tropical-marine.org .
